Matt Palmer (baseball)
Jonathan Matthew Palmer (born March 21, 1979) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He bats and throws right-handed. He attended Southwest Missouri State University. Playing career San Francisco Giants Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 31st round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft, Palmer started his professional career strong by having a 1.83 ERA in 2002 with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Palmer spent the 2003 season with the Hagerstown Suns. However, Palmer spent three seasons in Double-A before earning a promotion to Triple-A Fresno in 2006. In 2007, Palmer pitched 150 innings for Fresno, recording an 11-8 record with a 4.32 ERA. On August 14, 2008, Palmer was called up by the Giants. He made his Major League debut on August 16 against the Atlanta Braves. He started but only lasted 2.1 innings and allowed 6 earned runs. Matthew Simon Russell Palmer (born 12 May 1964) is a New Zealand judge, legal academic and former public servant. Palmer graduated with a BA in Economics & Political Science from University of Canterbury in 1983. This was followed by a LLB (Hons) (First Class) in 1987. Then a LLM & JSD from Yale Law School in 1993. Palmer was the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Government Relations), Dean of Law, and Director of the New Zealand Centre for Public Law at Victoria University of Wellington from January 2001 until June 2007. He has also held positions in the Treasury and has been Deputy Secretary of Justice (Public Law) in the New Zealand Ministry of Justice and Deputy Solicitor-General (Public Law) in the New Zealand Crown Law Office. Matthew Thomas Palmer (born 27 February 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for National League club Notts County. Career Burton Albion Palmer was born in Derby, Derbyshire. He joined Burton Albion's youth academy after being released by Derby County. He secured the award for most improved young player at the end of his first season as a scholar at the club. He made his debut on 15 November 2012 as an 89th-minute substitute in the FA Cup, in a 2–0 away win over Altrincham. He made his League Two debut on 5 April 2013, coming on 79 minutes into a 7–1 away defeat to Port Vale.
